Technical Lead Infrastructure Planning – Active Travel – CMB2207i
We’re seeking a Technical Lead for Infrastructure Planning – Active Travel to play a key role in improving the infrastructure for cycling, walking and wheeling, and to drive innovative projects that promote safer, healthier and greener travel across our region.
In this pivotal role, you’ll act as the lead technical advisor on active travel matters, ensuring the Council meets design standards, identifying infrastructure requirements, influencing local transport plans, design guides and major development projects.
The role will support the Active Travel Infrastructure Planning programme of work, which focuses on identifying suitable projects, securing funding for the Council to deliver new and improved infrastructure, and designing routes, including those identified in our Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans (LCWIPs) and strategic corridors.
Essential Criteria
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in engineering, transport or a related field
- Substantial experience in designing and managing active travel or transport projects
- Expert knowledge of contemporary design standards and legislation
- Strong stakeholder engagement and advisory skills
