Cumberland Council is seeking a Street Works Permit Officer to join our Highways and Transportation service. You will play a key role in coordinating and monitoring street and road works across the county, ensuring compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004, and the Highways Act 1980.

Key Responsibilities

  • Issue and process permits and licences for works on the highway.
  • Coordinate works to minimise disruption for road users.
  • Assist with Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TTROs).
  • Maintain accurate records and provide technical advice to colleagues and contractors.
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

About You

  • Knowledge of NRSWA, TMA, and Highways Act.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and ensure compliance.
