Join our dedicated Road Lighting Team and help maintain over 35,000 streetlights and illuminated signs across Cumberland. As a Street Lighting Operative, you’ll carry out a variety of installation, maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring our streets remain safe, well-lit and welcoming for residents. The role includes:
- Cleaning and replacing lamps
- Installing columns and cabling
- Completing basic electrical testing
- Operating MEWPs
- Keeping accurate records
You’ll also support general highway maintenance during quieter periods and take part in out of hours duties, including winter service.

- Hours: 37 hours per week

- Contract: Permanent
