About This Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join Cumberland Councils Planning Policy team, which plays a key role in shaping the future of the area through the development and delivery of the Local Plan and other planning policy documents. These documents form the statutory framework for making planning decisions and support the Councils wider objectives around health, growth, housing, the environment, and infrastructure.
In this role, you will provide professional planning advice, expertise and support across all aspects of the planning policy function of the Council with particular emphasis on the production of the Cumberland Local Plan. In particular to take responsibility for, drafting policy, site assessments and supporting the procurement and management of external commissions. You will also prepare background papers for Members and for the Local Plan Examination
You will work corporately and with external partners to ensure that the Councils planning policies contribute to the priorities of the community and the Council, as well as with Development Management colleagues to provide effective pre-application and master planning input with developers.
This role is available on a permanent basis.
