We’re looking for a Parks & Open Spaces Technician to join our dedicated team, helping to keep our parks, play areas, allotments and public open spaces clean, safe and welcoming for everyone. This is a rewarding, hands-on role where no two days are the same — from site inspections and maintenance tasks to supporting volunteers and community groups.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carry out regular inspections of parks, play areas, allotments and public open spaces, ensuring they meet required standards.
- Assist with routine safety checks of play equipment and infrastructure (full training provided).
- Support the management of allotments, including inspections, liaising with plot holders and helping with tenancy arrangements.
- Undertake practical site management and maintenance tasks across Council-owned spaces.
- Work closely with volunteers, schools and community groups on a variety of environmental projects.
- Contribute to community events and engagement activities.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced staff and apprentices when required.

- Has a strong awareness of health & safety and a commitment to safe working practices.
Additional Requirements
This role requires a DBS check with an Enhanced DBS check including a Children’s/Adults Barred List check.
