We have an opportunity for a caring, compassionate, and enthusiastic person to join our Day Service team in West Cumbria as a Support Worker providing support and care within our Disability and Mental Health Services.

About Day Services (DMH)

Care Services Cumberland have a diverse range of Day Services for adults with a physical and/or learning disability. The support offered is highly personalised to meet the needs of the individual and promote and maintain independence. West Day services operate from various sites in Whitehaven, Workington and Cockermouth and provides exciting day opportunities, tailored care programmes, performing arts, horticultural, swimming, rebound therapy and outreach support.

Responsibilities

As a Day service Support Worker, you will get to know people individually and support their wellbeing through physical and emotional care. You will also assist with medication, providing personal care, and encouraging people to achieve their full potential. You will be flexible, enthusiastic, willing to undertake specialised activities and training, and you will share your own personal skills, interests and ideas. We are particularly interested in individuals who have horticultural interests, enjoy working outdoors, and have an interest in driving a minibus.

Requirements and Desired Criteria

This role requires a DBS check. The level of check for this role is Enhanced DBS check with an Adults Barred List check. Note: This role involves working in regulated activity with adults. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with adults.
