Library & Customer Assistant x3 – CMB1985e

Overview

Location: Whitehaven. Salary: £25,989 per annum pro rata. Hours: 3 x part-time permanent roles based at Whitehaven Library (Lowther St, Whitehaven CA28 7QZ). Contract: Permanent.

Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for visitors, helping them access books, information, and essential council services.
  • Support digital skills, promote literacy and learning, assist with library events and activities, maintain stock, and ensure a welcoming and engaging space for all.
  • Travel to local libraries as needed and work confidently when alone.

Working patterns

  • Position 1: 30 hours – Mon, Tue, Thurs, Fri & every 3rd Saturday (10:00–14:00)
  • Position 2: 22.75 hours – Mon, Tue, Wed & every 3rd Saturday (10:00–14:00)
  • Position 3: 22.75 hours – Wed, Thurs, Fri & every 3rd Saturday (10:00–14:00)
