About This Opportunity

Would you like to support learners in various qualifications and inspire those within the local Community? Do you have experience in supporting learners with different needs in an educational environment? We are looking to recruit an Adult Learning Support Assistant on a sessional basis to support learners with needs within Adult Learning classes in Kendal and the surrounding area.

The successful candidate will have knowledge of preparing and developing resources for learning activities and supporting learners on a 1:1 basis within the classroom, working closely with the course tutor. The successful candidate will support face to face and online courses with the opportunity to work across the county. We aim to offer courses during daytime and evenings, therefore the successful candidate will need to be able to work flexibly to meet demand. There would be potential opportunities to travel and work in other centres e.g. Barrow. Classes may include GCSE and Functional Skills Mathematics and English; Employability, Essential Digital Skills and other courses.

Our service works with learners of all abilities and with skills levels from absolute beginner to intermediate and beyond, you will need to demonstrate the ability to help learners succeed with a range of learning styles and support learners with diverse needs.

The ideal candidate to join our service will be positive, flexible and enthusiastic, with the ability to support learners with a range of needs, using a variety of strategies. Experience working as either a Learning Support Assistant or a Teaching Assistant is essential.
