Cumberland Council is looking for a motivated Highways Technician to join our Highways and Transport service. In this varied role, you’ll support the design, delivery and monitoring of highway improvement and maintenance projects. You’ll help collect and analyse asset data, prepare designs and specifications, support winter maintenance activities, and provide technical advice to colleagues and stakeholders. You’ll also play a part in ensuring compliance with legislation, contract requirements and Council policies, while contributing to effective team working across the service.
This role is available on a permanent basis.

Someone with a relevant technical or vocational qualification, experience in a technical team, and an understanding of construction, highways or transport-related standards. Strong communication skills, the ability to organise your workload, and confidence in using IT systems are essential.
