Gardener (Career Grade) - CMB2076e

Salary: Level 1: £25,989 per annum, Level 2: £26,403 - £26,824 per annum

Hours: 37 per week - 7:30am-3:30pm Monday-Thursday & 7:30am-3:00pm Friday

Location: Bousteads Grassing, Carlisle

Contract: Permanent

The advertised salary includes a supplement (JWC) to the base grade of the post. JWC supplements are conditional on the physical demands and/or working conditions of the role.

About the role

Local Government Reorganisation: Local Government in Cumbria has changed. The current six district councils and Cumbria County Council have been replaced by two new unitary authorities - Westmorland and Furness Council and Cumberland Council.

This role will be based in and employed by Cumberland Council.

Responsibilities

We are looking to recruit Gardeners to join our Grounds Maintenance Team. The right candidate must be hard-working and committed to working to the highest standards. You will help keep Council parks, cemeteries, and open spaces safe, clean, and well maintained. You must be able to work well in a team as well as on your own, with flexibility in a fast-paced environment and the ability to deal with multiple demands.

The work will involve many aspects of maintenance including maintaining floral displays, sports pitch maintenance, hedge cutting, grass cutting, litter picking, and park bin emptying. You will be required to use a wide range of tools and machinery including mowers, hedge cutters and strimmers. Previous experience would be an advantage, but training will be provided.

Full UK Driving Licence is essential.

DBS This role requires a basic DBS check.
