Overview

Join our dedicated team working within a residential setting in Children’s Services. We provide a safe, nurturing environment for young people and are committed to delivering high-quality care and support.

Salary: ÂŁ25,989 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Barrow-in-Furness

This role combines driving responsibilities with general maintenance duties to support the smooth running of the residential home and ensure the safety and wellbeing of our young people.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily vehicle checks in line with the Road Traffic Act.
  • Report faults, defects, accidents, or damage to the Deputy Manager/Manager.
  • Ensure vehicle security and cleanliness (inside and out).
  • Transport young people to and from educational provisions and appointments.
  • Carry out basic repairs and installations to maintain the home and grounds.
  • Experience of lone working.

Who We’re Looking For (Qualifications / Experience)

We’re looking for a dependable and practical individual with a clean driving licence. You’ll have experience interacting with the public face-to-face, a working knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance, and a strong commitment to good communication and customer care. DBS Checks

This role requires an Enhanced DBS Check with a Children’s Barred List check. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with Children.
