About This Opportunity
Help keep our communities clean, safe, and welcoming. We’re looking for a dedicated and professional individual to join our Public Spaces team as a Mechanical Street Sweeper Operator.
About The Role
You will operate mechanical sweeping vehicles and carry out a range of cleansing duties across the district. Tasks include street sweeping, power washing, litter picking, and responding to emergency incidents such as flooding or road collisions. You’ll work flexibly to meet service needs and help ensure public spaces are maintained to a high standard.
What You’ll Do
- Operate mechanical sweepers on highways, footways, car parks, and public spaces
- Carry out scheduled and reactive cleansing, including power washing and litter picking
- Maintain high standards of health and safety and follow Council procedures
- Respond to emergency incidents when required
- Work professionally with the public, colleagues, and partner teams
- Support continuous improvement and take part in training and development
