Join Cumberland Council as a Highways Team Leader. Are you ready to lead a small, skilled team in delivering essential highway maintenance across Cumbria? Cumberland Council is seeking a proactive and experienced Highways Team Leader to supervise and organise a team of up to five operatives. You’ll oversee a variety of tasks including patching, drainage works, bridge maintenance, and traffic management, ensuring safety, quality, and performance on site.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and organise a team of up to five operatives to deliver highway maintenance activities.
  • Oversee tasks including patching, drainage works, bridge maintenance, and traffic management with a focus on safety, quality, and on-site performance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong knowledge of highway materials and maintenance processes.
  • Proven leadership experience.
  • Certification in abrasive wheels.
  • Experience with plant and equipment.
  • Desirable qualifications include NVQs in Highway Maintenance or Team Leadership.
  • Desirable tickets include CSCS, HIAB, and NRSWA.
