Salary: £39,481 to £40,444 per annum

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Carlisle, Whitehaven or Workington

Contract: Temporary (24-months)

About This Opportunity

We have two exciting opportunities to join Cumberland Council’s Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC), a £5 million National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) funded programme focused on reducing health inequalities and improving outcomes for our communities.

You will help develop and embed a strong research and evidence‑based culture across the Council, supporting colleagues to become more confident in using research to inform decision‑making and service delivery. Working closely with academic partners, the NHS, voluntary sector organisations and local communities, you will contribute to building research capacity, developing new knowledge and evaluating what works to improve health and wellbeing.

These are exciting opportunities to get involved in research within the Council, working alongside academic partners and stakeholders to help answer important questions about the factors that influence health and wellbeing in Cumberland, helping to shape better outcomes for residents and communities.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with research experience, strong partnership‑building skills, and a passion for using evidence to drive positive change in local communities.

These roles are available on a temporary basis.
