About This Opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Accounting Technician to join our Finance Unit and support the effective financial management of the Council. This role contributes to budget setting, ongoing budget monitoring, and year‑end processes, providing accurate financial information to support informed decision‑making across services. You will work closely with budget holders, promote effective use of financial systems, and provide flexible support across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting budget setting, monitoring, and closure of accounts.
- Maintaining the general ledger, including processing journals and virements in line with Financial Regulations.
- Producing financial reports and analysis for finance managers, budget managers, and Members.
- Supporting and improving the use of financial systems, including delivering training to users.
- Providing flexible financial support to services across the Council as required.
