About This Opportunity

We are looking to recruit a Senior Teaching Assistant on a 0.4 fractional hours contract to support learners with specific needs. The successful candidate will assist tutors in preparing and delivering lessons for learners in a group setting, and will work 1-1 with learners to support them with reviewing progress using a new cognitive assessment platform. They will work with adults from diverse backgrounds and be sensitive to the unique challenges faced by learners.

Responsibilities

  • Assist tutors in preparing and delivering lessons for group learners.
  • Support learners in 1‑1 sessions, reviewing progress on a cognitive assessment platform.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of adults with diverse backgrounds and varying learning requirements.
  • Support face‑to‑face and online courses and work flexibly to meet demand across the county.
  • Collaborate with the Adult Learning team to deliver community learning and adult skills programmes.

Qualifications

  • Experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant is essential.
  • Positive, flexible, enthusiastic attitude with the ability to support learners with a range of needs.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and sensitivity to the varied backgrounds of adult learners.

Role Requirements (DBS)

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 and requires an enhanced DBS check with an Adults Barred List check.
