About This Opportunity
We are looking to recruit a Senior Teaching Assistant on a 0.4 fractional hours contract to support learners with specific needs. The successful candidate will assist tutors in preparing and delivering lessons for learners in a group setting, and will work 1-1 with learners to support them with reviewing progress using a new cognitive assessment platform. They will work with adults from diverse backgrounds and be sensitive to the unique challenges faced by learners.
Responsibilities
- Assist tutors in preparing and delivering lessons for group learners.
- Support learners in 1‑1 sessions, reviewing progress on a cognitive assessment platform.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of adults with diverse backgrounds and varying learning requirements.
- Support face‑to‑face and online courses and work flexibly to meet demand across the county.
- Collaborate with the Adult Learning team to deliver community learning and adult skills programmes.
Qualifications
- Experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant is essential.
- Positive, flexible, enthusiastic attitude with the ability to support learners with a range of needs.
- Understanding of adult learning principles and sensitivity to the varied backgrounds of adult learners.
