We are seeking a Senior Associate to play a pivotal role in delivering for our customers on a 12 months fixed term, full-time basis.

The Role

As a Senior Associate you will provide support to the Senior Commercial Manager and Business Development Managers, assisting with the provision of top-class service to customers in the portfolio and business development. You will be involved in the credit analysis, credit support, security work and ongoing credit administration. As well as some general administration for the portfolio of high value commercial customers including the on-boarding of new to Society high value customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience
  • Deal with new prospect or customer enquiries in a proactive and customer led manner
  • Provide support on credit associated tasks in relation to commercial customers including a level of financial analysis
  • Provide support to the Senior Commercial Manager and Business Development Managers in a variety of ways including the set up and preparation and follow-up for high value customer meetings, prospect meetings and professional/broker meetings
  • Ensure processes are followed with customers who are in financial difficulty to protect the customer and society
  • Understand and be aware of the risk and control environment and adhere to processes and procedures in order to minimise risks
  • Support the general business development activities of the Senior Commercial Manager and Business Development Managers
  • Work in a collaborative manner alongside colleagues within Commercial and the wider Society
  • Support the achievement of the customer retention plan, customer feedback objectives and gross lending plan

About you

Skills & Experience

  • Experience of business or commercial banking
  • Good experience of dealing with quality service provision for business or commercial customers
  • Good knowledge of risk and regulatory controls, processes and procedures in business or commercial banking
  • Experience of working collaboratively across teams internally and externally
  • Ability to work to SLAs
  • Good evidence of performance delivery in safe and sustainable manner
  • Highly developed Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong desire to develop skills and knowledge in commercial banking and ability to be coached
  • Achievement driven with focus to deliver
  • Good communicator internally and externally
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Good risk awareness & ability to identify risks and manage them
  • Desire to develop credit skills in Commercial Finance Lending

Location

Our aim is to keep the great balance we have achieved recently with hybrid working. Due to the expectations of the role, the successful candidate would therefore be willing to occasionally work from our Head Office in Carlisle.
