Job Description
Our Chorley site has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Controller to join their team on a fullātime permanent basis. Salary: Ā£27,264 per annum. Working hours: Any 5 in 7 days, 6amā2pm/2pmā10pm rotating. As the Operations Controller, you will contribute to the success of the site by supporting the dayātoāday running of the warehouse, ensuring that all schedules for inbound receipts and outbound loads are run efficiently.
Responsibilities
Efficiently manage the outbound schedule to ensure collection and delivery times are met.
Issue instructions to designated staff to maintain a smooth flow of inbound and outbound work.
Control paperwork for outbound vehicles, ensuring 100% accuracy.
Serve as the initial point of contact for all drivers arriving on site.
Communicate issues to Shift Managers in a timely manner to minimise disruption to the schedule.
Participate as an active member of the operations team and offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus.
Maintain good communication with transport providers to prevent late collections and delivery failures.
Produce a thorough, detailed handover to the following shift highlighting potential issues, reminders, and current state of play.
Qualifications
Proven experience within a similar fastāpaced role.
Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and available resources.
PC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook with a high level of attention to detail.
Team player capable of working on your own initiative.
Inādepth knowledge of onāsite systems.
Experience with Autostore and RF kit.
Strong communication skills with a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and thirdāparty hauliers.
Excellent timeāmanagement skills and problemāsolving ability.
