We are looking for an analytical and commercially driven Commodity Trader to join our client’s dynamic trading team. Based in the North West of England, this hybrid role presents a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and proven trader to make an impact within an established agricultural business.

At the heart of this role, you will be responsible for buying and selling key agricultural commodities, including grains, proteins, and oils, optimising margins, managing risk, and nurturing strong relationships with both suppliers and customers. This fast-paced position is perfect for an individual eager to advance their career, build their own market exposure, and thrive in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate and trade feed raw materials to maximise profitability while balancing farmer and customer pricing.
  • Track global commodity markets, price fluctuations, weather, and trends to guide informed trading decisions.
  • Manage commodity trades, including deal negotiation, contracts, payments, and margin tracking.
  • Coordinate logistics and resolve operational or quality issues to ensure timely delivery.
  • Achieve target margins and drive commercial growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, farmers, and the wider team.

Skills you will need:

  • At least 3 years of proven experience in commodity trading, feed materials procurement, or agri business.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Strong knowledge of protein markets and commodities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised, able to adapt quickly to business needs.
  • A skilled relationship builder.
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and financial acumen.
  • Driven, motivated, and eager to progress.

Remuneration:

A competitive salary, commission structure, and benefits package commensurate with the successful candidate\’s level of experience.
