We are seeking a visionary leader with the commercial insight and track record to spearhead a team’s mission in driving the UK market for an award-winning, premium food supply chain. As the National Sales Manager, you will be based remotely but will regularly travel across the UK. You will be responsible for driving national sales growth and expanding market presence by leading, coaching, and developing a team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing a sales team and demonstrated success in implementing sales targets. You must possess a strong understanding of UK agriculture and the livestock industry, combined with leadership, coaching, and commercial acumen.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and develop a national team of business development managers, fostering a culture of accountability and growth
- Set clear sales objectives, KPIs, and activity standards aligned with overall company goals
- Develop and execute the national sales plan to drive market presence and achieve overall company objectives
- Ensure the team consistently exceeds regional and national sales targets
- Oversee the full sales cycle, ensuring effective lead follow-up, conversion, and accurate forecasting of sales growth
- Oversee major client relationships and provide strategic support to your team with key accounts
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance evaluations, utilising sales data analysis to identify areas for improvement
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity, providing regular reports and key business insights
- Work closely with other departments in the business to ensure optimal customer service and support
- Oversee the management of customer debtor balances and credit limits
- Represent the company at regional industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities
Required Skills:
- Proven track record of managing a field sales or business development team
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing sales targets
- Understanding of UK agriculture and the livestock industry
- A strong knowledge of sales processes, account management, and pipeline management
