About the Role

We are searching for an experienced Livestock Operations Manager to join our client’s thriving agri food business in a pivotal role focused on optimising livestock procurement and trading operations. Based at their Northern offices, you will serve as the cornerstone of the operation, ensuring a seamless flow of work from farm to customer. Drawing on your proven expertise, you will lead and inspire a dedicated team while using your exceptional people management and relationship-building skills to drive continuous improvement, maintain regulatory compliance and resolve operational challenges in a fast-paced supply chain environment. You will play a key role in streamlining operations to support strategic business objectives and growth. Responsibilities

  • To serve as the central point of alignment across the wider business and departments, resolving queries and ensuring a smooth farm-to-customer workflow.
  • To lead and mentor a team of livestock administrators, driving accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • To oversee daily livestock payment administration and account management, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to strict weekly deadlines.
  • To coordinate cross-functional communication across a range of audiences, ensuring a seamless operational flow from farm to customer.
  • To produce insightful reports and create strategic presentation packs to support business decisions while maintaining and ensuring supplier contracts and terms.
  • To manage livestock systems development with IT teams, driving continuous operational improvement by identifying and eliminating inefficiencies.
  • To monitor industry and market trends to provide insights that support strategic decisions.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in an operational management role or equivalent.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong relationship management capabilities.
  • A genuine passion for British agriculture, ideally supported by knowledge of livestock operations.
  • Highly organised with a good eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Experience in data analysis, reporting, and system management.
  • Highly adaptable, skilled at troubleshooting, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent IT skills and competency.
