We are looking for a passionate and experienced Forest and Woodlands Creation Manager to drive the planning, development, and implementation of forestry and woodland projects across the regions of Aberdeenshire, Angus and Perthshire. In this hybrid, client-facing role, you will take the lead in managing a growing portfolio of clients, overseeing all aspects of forestry management, woodland creation, and the development of FSG applications. Role Responsibilities:
- To lead the planning, development, and sustainable management of woodlands and forests
- To oversee forest and woodland operations on behalf of the client, to agree standards and budget
- To develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing advice and business support
- To manage and secure any grant funding and applications for clients and ensure full compliance with industry standards
- To lead a small team with a proactive approach and supervise third-party contractors
- To work collaboratively with the wider team, supporting business needs and identifying new business opportunities
Skills you will need:
- Essential: A minimum of 5 years' proven experience in a forestry management role
- Good forestry knowledge and experience of UK forestry standards, applications, and the FGS scheme
- Strong leadership skills
- An excellent communicator, able to build and maintain business relationships
- Highly organised, able to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
- Strong commercial acumen
- A versatile team player, able to work both independently and collaboratively
