The Clarence is a lively dining room and pub in the heart of Glasgow’s West End, offering seasonal, ingredient‑led food alongside a thoughtful drinks programme in a relaxed and welcoming setting. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Restaurant Supervisor to join our front‑of‑house leadership team. This is a hands‑on role suited to a natural host who leads from the floor and takes pride in delivering consistently excellent service.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily front‑of‑house operations, ensuring smooth service and excellent guest experiences
  • Lead, support, and mentor servers, hosts, and bar staff
  • Collaborate closely with management and kitchen teams to maintain service standards
  • Lead pre‑shift briefings and foster a positive, motivated, and knowledgeable team culture
  • Handle guest feedback professionally and confidently
  • Monitor floor performance, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere
  • Assist with reservations, floor plans, and opening/closing procedures
About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has 3+ years’ experience in a high‑quality restaurant, pub, or hospitality‑led venue
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills and clear communication
  • Has a genuine passion for hospitality and delivering consistent service
  • Possesses strong food and drink knowledge (wine knowledge beneficial but not essential)
  • Thrives in a fast‑paced environment and remains calm under pressure
  • Is flexible with availability, including evenings and weekends
