We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commercial HGV Trailer/Truck Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and diagnosing a wide range of heavy goods vehicle trailers and lorries. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, electrical knowledge, and proficiency with various tools and equipment. Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on commercial trailers and lorries
  • Diagnose faults using schematics and electrical diagrams
  • Perform repairs involving welding, soldering, fabrication, and assembly of parts
  • Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out repairs and modifications
  • Repair or replace components such as brakes, axles, suspension systems, lighting, and electrical systems
  • Maintain accurate records of work carried out and parts utilised
  • Assist with the repair of auxiliary equipment such as excavators and forklifts as required
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair status and recommendations
  • Undertake heavy lifting tasks safely to handle large components or equipment parts

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in mechanical repair of commercial vehicles, trailers or similar heavy machinery
