We have an exciting opportunity for a Planner to join our growing teams, who will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimising efficient and compliant schedules for all mains‑fed Field (BFC) Operations activities within an allocated region. Working collaboratively with Service Centre Managers, Sales, Customer Support, Central Distribution and wider operational teams, the role ensures the right resources and capabilities are deployed at the right time and location to deliver services in line with customer expectations and agreed business performance targets. As a Planner, this role plays a critical part in maximising technician productivity, minimising service disruption, and supporting the organisation's operational and customer service objectives.
What this role involves:
- Produce coordinated, accurate and efficient schedules for all mains‑fed Field Operations activities within the assigned region
- Allocate work based on technician capability, geographical location, availability and operational priority
- Continuously monitor schedules, making real‑time adjustments in response to changes such as absences, emergencies, customer requests or operational disruption
- Balance operational efficiency with customer service commitments to achieve agreed SLAs and KPIs
- Work in close partnership with Service Centre Managers, Sales, Customer Support and Central Distribution teams to align priorities and ensure seamless service delivery
- Act as a central point of contact for scheduling‑related queries from internal stakeholders
- Communicate effectively to manage expectations and resolve scheduling challenges
- Support the Planning Team Leader and wider team in the delivery of departmental and company objectives
- Accurately update all relevant systems (CRM, scheduling and operational platforms) with timely and complete information
- Ensure scheduling data supports successful job completion, KPI tracking and performance reporting
- Maintain high levels of data accuracy to enable planning, audit requirements and continuous improvement
- Use system data and reporting to identify trends, risks and opportunities
- Contribute ideas and recommendations to improve service delivery, efficiency and resource utilisation
- Manage internal and external telephone calls and emails professionally and in line with service standards
- Handle challenging conversations with empathy, clarity and professionalism
- Ensure all activities are conducted in line with health, safety and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
- Excellent geographic knowledge of the United Kingdom
- Proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to resolve challenging situations in a clear, empathetic and conciliatory manner
- Proven customer service experience
- Competent user of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve performance targets
- Experience using CRM and scheduling systems effectively
