We're looking for a driven, ambitious Business Development Manager with a proven track record of winning new business and delivering sustainable revenue growth. This is a true hunter role, suited to someone who thrives on opening doors, creating opportunities, and securing new customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining a high-quality, high-velocity sales pipeline, consistently achieving a minimum 3x pipeline coverage against target. You'll be proactive, commercially astute, and motivated by exceeding targets, with the resilience and determination to convert opportunities into long-term customer relationships.
Requirements
- Proactively identify, target, and secure new business opportunities through outbound sales activity, networking, referrals, and strategic market engagement.
- Build, develop, and influence strong relationships with key decision-makers including procurement, operations, sustainability teams, and C-suite stakeholders.
- Translate client needs, industry trends, competitor activity, and commercial opportunities into compelling solutions.
- Lead client meetings, commercial negotiations, presentations, and proposal discussions to successfully close new business deals.
- Work collaboratively with marketing and internal teams to maximise lead generation opportunities, strengthen market presence, and drive business growth.
- Acting as a bridge between the customer and internal departments to ensure optimal service.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline forecasts, sales activity reports, and win/loss analysis to support strategic business decisions.
- Represent the company professionally at industry events, trade exhibitions, networking forums, and client engagements to promote brand awareness and generate new opportunities.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
