Harvey Water Softeners, part of Culligan International, is a leading provider of domestic water softeners in the UK. We are currently undergoing a transformation to meet our 2025 targets. Our factory in Old Woking features advanced manufacturing and R&D facilities, alongside our head office. We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to ensure our suppliers meet quality standards for our products.

The role involves working with our supplier base and procurement team to negotiate contracts, review inbound parts quality, analyze defects, and conduct supplier audits. The SQE will collaborate across functions to improve quality control, analyze trends, and implement process improvements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assess and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery capabilities.
  • Ensure supplier contracts are in place and negotiate terms.
  • Conduct supplier quality audits for process standardization and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, defect rates, and cost of poor quality.
  • Resolve quality issues collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Manage supplier performance metrics and certification programs.
  • Train suppliers on quality processes.
  • Coordinate with engineering and procurement to ensure compliance.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
  • 3-5 years in quality engineering or similar.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001), statistical tools, and supplier contracts.
  • Certifications like CQE or Six Sigma Green Belt are preferred.
