Purpose of Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly Sales & Operations Coordinator to join our growing team. Working within our busy Harpenden branch and Hitchin Branch you will support our customers with queries relating to the installation of their water softeners. You will be responsible for supporting our team of water softener installers and will help manage their diaries to ensure we are able to install softeners for our customers promptly. You will also arrange visits for our sales team who survey and quote for potential new customers. As Operations Coordinator, providing our customers with prompt appointments will be key. You will provide administrative support to our team and will support the Team in their mission to provide the highest possible levels of customer service. The role also involves basic Purchasing process management like raising purchase requisitions and orders, invoicing and procurement.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Excellent phone manner and overall communication skills
  • Tenacious and diligent, with the ability to follow a problem through to resolution
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience using CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Knowledge of the purchasing process (purchase orders, invoicing) and related systems would be an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to take ownership and deliver exceptional customer service
  • Autonomous, confident in making decisions while ensuring the customer remains at the heart of them

Main Duties:

  • Dealing with general customer enquiries and booking service and installation appointments
  • Stock management
  • Keeping customer accounts up to date with the latest updates from third-party suppliers
  • Diary management to ensure a smooth flow of services for our field engineers
  • Handling customer calls regarding updates to their orders
  • Placing orders with suppliers
  • Advising customers on our range of water softeners and drinking water filters
  • Pulling reports from Salesforce and managing workloads through cases and bookings
  • Occasionally lifting salt into customers' cars
  • Ad hoc administrative tasks
  • Occasional planning of promotional activities

Although full training will be provided, applicants with a good geographical grasp are highly sought.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, office hours 9:30am to 5:00pm. Two Saturdays per month on a rota basis, 9:30am to 1:00pm.
