We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Coordinator to join our team in Minworth on a full time permanent basis.
Working hours: 4 on 4 off days, 6am-6pm.
The purpose of a Transport Coordinator is to effectively plan driver and vehicle resources to achieve delivery/collection times, whilst optimising resources and adhering to WTD and driver's hours' legislation.
Key Duties of a Transport Coordinator
- Creating and updating daily run summary in order to achieve delivery and collection deadlines.
- Ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained, in conjunction with other departments.
- Using the Driver rota, planning runs according to shift pattern and available hours, taking into account holidays and sickness.
- Ensuring legal compliance regarding any defects, services, MOT's, etc.
- Maintaining clear and effective communication with drivers; communicating accurate start times, load information, directions, additional shifts, etc.
- Ensuring adherence to all statutory and legal requirements, as well as all health and safety/safe systems of work policies.
- Assisting with disciplinary hearings, return to work meetings, substance misuse procedures, etc in order to maintain standards and ensure that employees work at an appropriate level.
Key Requirements and Qualifications
- Proven knowledge and experience of tachograph/driving rules and regulations.
- Planning and organising skills, with the ability to work efficiently and accurately to meet set deadlines under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
- Good IT skills including MS Office packages with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers' hours.
- High level of attention to detail.
