Due to continued growth an exciting opportunity is now available for a Safety, Facilities and Compliance Advisorto join our team in Bristol on a 6 month fixed-term contract.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-17:00pm

As a Safety, Facilities and Compliance Advisor you will work closely Safety, Facilities and Compliance Advisor with our Safety, Facilities and Compliance Manager to ensure the company maintains all required certifications (ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001) and is legally compliant in all its health, safety and quality activities.

Key Duties of a Safety, Facilities and Compliance Advisor:

  • Implementing improvement actions raised in connection with MAH (Major Accident Hazard)
  • Ensuring a suitable risk assessment process to establish MAH scenarios is implemented
  • Keeping control and records for appointed contractors and planned site maintenance
  • Managing waste disposal and site hygiene Ensuring that an effective competence management system is maintained
  • Understanding and maintaining all aspects of a Health and Safety Management System
  • Ensuring plant and machinery are safe to use and legally compliant
  • Provide guidance and advice to the region on compliance with all statutory requirements and company standards
  • Undertake risk assessments relating to SHEQ as required
  • Assist the business with implementation of the ISO9001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • To encourage employee involvement in Health, Safety and Environmental issues.
  • To support managers in Health and Safety Risk Assessments / COSHH Assessments to ensure that legislative standards are met or exceeded
  • To participate in Health, Safety and Environmental training for established staff and provide induction training for all new entrants including agency staff.
  • Understanding and advising on current H&S legislation, guidance and best practise

Knowledge Skills and Experience:

  • Health and Safety Auditing (Annual Health and Safety Audit)
  • British Retail Consortium (BRC) internal auditing
  • Maintaining Safe Systems of Work Assessor
  • Playing an active role in monthly Health and Safety meetings
  • Training trainers on Evacuation procedure
  • Maintaining role of Fire Marshal
  • Maintaining role of Racking Inspector
  • Assessing Control of Systems Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
  • Being a Super User for EOA and Fleet Focus (full training will be provided)
  • Managing Controlled documents
  • Devising and delivering safety briefs including safety conversations
  • Controlling of permits to work for contractors on site
  • Conducting internal audits
