Great Bear (Part of the Culina Group) provides distribution services to FMCG clients. Customer centric service focus is delivered through a site-level empowered culture.
We are now recruiting for Class 1 Drivers to join our team at Great Bear in Wigan on a Full time and Permanent position.
Shift: 5 from 7 Days starting between 16:00pm-20:00pm (Working days to be discussed during Interview)
Salary: £14.12 per hour + £1.00 per hour night allowance.
The role will include delivering ambient products nationwide.
- Report to the transport office at the start of shift
- Ensure correct and thorough completion of paperwork
- Observe and adhere to company rules and procedures, including all aspects of health, safety and hygiene
- Maintain a high standard of behaviour and appearance
- Effectively manage own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive
- Adhere to tachograph rules and regulations at all times
- Ensure daily vehicle checks are completed in line with company procedure
- Make deliveries to customers’ premises, acting in a professional manner at all times
- Immediately report any problems regarding delivery arrival times, delays or discrepancies with loads
- Ensure proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned to the Transport Office after delivery
- Ensure regular communication with the Transport Office
- Observe and adhere to site procedures at each delivery point
- Ensure correct completion of a defect report as and when required
- Any other duties as reasonably required
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Two years driving Class 1 vehicles.
- Full C+E Entitlement along with CPC & Tacho Card.
- No more than 6 points no DD/ DR Code convictions
- Understand and able to comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation
- Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly
- Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements
- Excellent communication skills
