A customer facing role which will serve as first point of contact for customer visits and external audits. To manage and maintain food safety, legal and quality of all products produced, in accordance with IPS QMS, BRC standards and Customer Codes of Practice.
Working hours: Monday to Friday
Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 per annum (DOE)
Key Duties of Quality Manager:- To adhere to and promote best practice in accordance with company health and safety requirements.
- Effective management and motivation of the site quality and hygiene teams to achieve commercial, site and quality objectives within the agreed timelines.
- Measuring site standards across all operations in line with business, customer and legislative requirements.
- Review, audit and challenge factory operations with regards to product safety and quality to ensure that manufacturing operations maintain the highest standards in line with the overarching Group Quality Management System.
- Act as the site HACCP Team Leader ensuring development and monitoring of the site HACCP system.
- Champion the Food Safety Quality Culture plan and Customer Complaints reduction for the site and develop and report leading measures.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external customers to effectively deliver change, improvements and new products to the business ensuring food safety and quality whilst demonstrating the business behaviours.
- Using Root Cause Analysis, ensure that any non-conformances including audit actions and customer complaints, are investigated and acted upon to minimise any future risks.
- To manage the training and development of new starters within own department and provide ongoing training.
- Previous experience within a Quality or similar role.
- FMCG Food Manufacturing Background, preferably in ambient, shelf stable products.
- Working within or supplying leading retailers or major brands.
- Management of Food Safety, Legality and Quality Systems.
- Experience in Root Cause Analysis.
- Experience of managing a team of site QA and Hygiene Team.
- HACCP – Level 3 or above.
- Food Hygiene – Level 3 or above.
- Internal Audit Training.
- PC Literate, knowledge of MS packages.
