Job Description:

  • Shift Pattern: 4ON 4OFF Nights - 18:00pm-06:00am.
  • Salary: Basic - £14.01 per hour + £1.00 per hour 4ON 4OFF allowance + £1.00 per hour Shift allowance.

Your job duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Observing and adhering to company rules, site procedures and all aspects of Health & Safety and Hygiene at all times.
  • Effectively managing own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive.
  • Liaising with colleagues and ensuring completion of shift report.
  • Conducting daily checks, immediately reporting any defects and/or damage and completing associated documentation.
  • Carrying out trailer checks on loaded trailers and report to Reader dp staff.
  • Carrying out shunting duties including relevant maintenance and safety checks.
  • Liaising with the warehouse control and goods in staff to ensure smooth and efficient loading/unloading of trailers.
  • Completing vehicles downloads as per the company policy.
  • Moniramb services/MOTs – liaising with Transport Office and with service vendor.
  • Assisting with fuel delivery/manual dip of fuel.
  • Keeping yard in clean/tidy condition.
  • Liaising with Transport Office as and when required i.e. special promotions and/or livery schedules.
  • Manage the flow of traffic in and out of the yard.

Qualifications:

  • A Full C+E, CPC and Tacho Card is essential for this position.
  • Previous experience of Shunting will be essential.
  • Attention to detail/accurate.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Adaptable and methodical approach to work/training.
  • Conscientious and reliable.
  • Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
  • Able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
