Our Minworth site are now recruiting for a Senior Transport Planner to join their friendly team on a full time permanent basis.
Salary: 36000 per annum.
Working hours: 4 on 4 off 6am-6pm.
As a Senior Transport Planner you will support the site operation with planning transport taking into account WTD & EU regulations and compliance legalities.
Key Duties of a Senior Transport Planner:
- Managing and overseeing the Transport day operation ensuring that service levels are achieved and maintained.
- Optimising resource and adherence of WTD & drivers hours legislation.
- Planning driver and vehicle resource to achieve delivery / collection times creating and updating daily run summary.
- Effectively communicating with the Planning team and other depots.
- Providing 24 / 7 communication Transport link with Customer Services and Sales Order Processing.
- Monitoring retailer arrival and departure times ensuring deliveries are made within the specified windows.
- Finding the best fit solution for customer collections adhering to collection times.
- Arranging deliveries using nominated contractors for special instruction deliveries re-deliveries.
- Communicating any potential failures or changes to the original plan.
- Ensuring all accidents incidents and near misses are logged and reported.
- Liaising and planning drivers in for meetings / courses as required.
Qualifications:
- Significant transport experience in FMCG environment.
- Attention to detail / accuracy.
- Planning and organising skills high level of numeracy.
- Strong communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
- Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines.
- Able to work as part of a team or individually.
- Have knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers hours.
- Be professional approachable and helpful to ensure smooth running of the general operation.
