As Transport Planner you will contribute to the success of the transport team, you will be responsible for completing and overseeing the day-to-day planning function of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a quick and fast-paced environment and be able to deal with day to day challenges in providing an effective transport plan. Working on a shift pattern of Monday to Friday, 07.00-17.00. Salary: £35,000 per annum.
Key Duties:
- Work with Transport and Warehouse teams, to create an efficient transport plan using the latest TMS.
- Subcontracting and planning orders from multiple sites across the UK.
- Planning daily workload of fleet: vehicles based on site and out bases.
- Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that may arise.
- Planning collections per day on a time critical basis.
- Maintaining and exceeding agreed KPI’s.
- Proactively look for continuous improvements.
- Be able to make decisions under pressure and to a tight timescale.
- Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business particularly at peak periods during the year.
Qualifications:
- Previous Transport Planning experience.
- Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
- Proficient in computer literacy including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
- CPC desirable but not required.
- Experience of planning 100+ tractor units across multiple depots.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed in a pressurised environment.
- Customer focus on delivery performance.
- Commercially and financially astute and driven to deliver exceptional results.
- Experience of using a TMS system.
- Experience in an FMCG environment.
- Strong analytical and Excel capability across standard formulas.
