Overview
The Role This is an exciting and new position in the Prep School for a candidate who would like a broad and varied role within a school setting. The successful candidate will be committed to providing proactive support to our science department and to colleagues in the Prep School.
Hours: 20 hours per week for 36 weeks per year (34 weeks term time, plus inset days, plus 2 weeks in the holidays). During the holidays we can be flexible on how the hours are worked. Salary: £10,483 Start Date: As soon as possible (early applications welcome)

Responsibilities
- Providing support for the science department. This may include:
- Ensuring the availability of suitable materials and equipment and obtaining costs for materials, compiling and placing orders.
- Preparing, dismantling and cleaning materials and equipment for practical lessons as specified by teaching staff and delivering equipment to teaching rooms.
- Overview of Health & Safety including risk assessments of practical work.
- Carrying out visual checks of all equipment in all rooms before being used by pupils.
- Providing a backup service for lessons so that extras, deficiencies, faults or spare equipment may be available for lesson continuity.
- Keep the sinks and worktops clean; stock rooms and cupboards clean, tidy and in good order.
- Assist with administrative tasks and attend staff meetings as directed.
- Cover supervision — Primarily teachers cover absent colleagues for lessons and duties but in times of need, cover supervision will be required.
