We are looking for an experienced Cook to join our Care Home Berkeley Gardens in Pemberton, Wigan. We require a friendly reliable person to join an established team working in a caring environment. Must be able to cook and bake from fresh ingredients and understand food hygiene rules and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing nutritious and appropriate meals for the residents, paying particular attention to any special dietary requirements of individual residents.
  • All aspects of food handling, ensuring preparation and presentation to residents are properly monitored in order to ensure compliance with food hygiene regulations.
  • Making food orders to suppliers and managing stock.
  • Ensure all equipment provided in the kitchen is used correctly and in accordance with operating instructions and abiding by food hygiene standards.
  • To dispose of waste correctly.
  • Maintaining a high level of kitchen cleanliness and other responsible duties as may be required.
  • To have a professional, caring and efficient service to residents at all times.

42 hours per week to include alternate weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 months experience.
  • Must be able to cook and bake from fresh ingredients.
  • Must understand food hygiene rules and regulations.
