Help create a welcoming and exciting experience for every visitor. At Cudham Shaws Outdoor Centre, our onsite shop is a popular stop for young people and leaders visiting the centre. Whether it’s snacks after activities, campsite essentials or a friendly chat, the shop plays an important part in the visitor experience. We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to join our Shop Team, predominantly supporting Saturdays and Sundays during busy camping weekends and events. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys meeting people, working in a busy environment and being part of a friendly outdoor centre community.
The Role
As a Volunteer Shop Team Member, you will help run the onsite shop during weekends and busy periods, serving visiting Scouts, Guides, schools and youth groups. You will be one of the friendly faces young people and leaders interact with during their stay, helping create a welcoming atmosphere while providing excellent customer service. The role includes operating our SumUp till system, handling both cash and card payments, managing stock and helping keep the shop clean, organised and well presented. No previous retail experience is required — full training on the till system and shop procedures will be provided.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Opening and running the onsite shop during weekends and events

- Issuing correct change and handling transactions accurately
- Restocking shelves, drinks and snack areas
- Helping keep the shop clean, tidy and organised
- Assisting with stock checks and basic shop administration
- Supporting young people and leaders with enquiries
- Working alongside the wider volunteer and site teams

Located within the Kent countryside, Cudham Shaws Outdoor Centre welcomes Scouts, Guides, schools and youth organisations from across London and the South East.
