At Cudham Shaws Outdoor Centre, we welcome hundreds of young people and volunteers each year for camps, activity days and outdoor adventures. From Scouts and Guides to schools and youth organisations, every visit starts at Reception — and that’s where our Reception Team plays a vital role. We are looking for welcoming, organised and enthusiastic volunteers to join our Reception Team, primarily supporting Friday evenings and busy arrival periods across the site. This is a fantastic role for someone who enjoys meeting people, helping others and being part of a friendly outdoor centre environment.
The Role
As a Volunteer Reception Team Member, you will help welcome groups arriving onsite and ensure they have everything they need for a successful visit. You will be one of the first people visitors meet, helping create a warm, organised and positive first impression of Cudham Shaws. From checking groups in and directing them around site, to answering questions and supporting the wider volunteer team, you will help make every visit run smoothly. The role is primarily based around Friday evenings when many groups arrive for weekend camps, though additional opportunities may be available during events and busy periods.

Located within 92 acres of countryside on the edge of London, Cudham Shaws Outdoor Centre provides camping, accommodation and activities for Scouts, Guides, schools and youth groups. The centre focuses on adventure, teamwork and helping young people gain skills for life through outdoor experiences.
