We’re looking for an Assistant General Manager to join the team at The Princess Royal, our destination pub in the heart of Notting Hill. With elegant dining rooms, a stunning garden terrace, and four boutique bedrooms, The Princess Royal has quickly become both a neighbourhood favourite and a London hotspot for elevated food, wine, and atmosphere.

As Assistant General Manager, you’ll support the GM in leading the team and delivering memorable guest experiences. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends operational excellence with people development. You’ll ensure smooth day-to-day operations across the bar, restaurant, and bedrooms while inspiring your team to uphold Cubitt House’s high standards of hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the General Manager to ensure smooth daily operations across the site.
  • Lead, train, and motivate the team to deliver exceptional hospitality.
  • Drive sales and profitability through smart floor management, guest engagement, and upselling.
  • Manage stock, rotas, compliance, and back-of-house systems with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Step up to cover the GM when needed, taking full responsibility for the site.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in premium hospitality, ideally in high-volume restaurants, pubs, or boutique hotels.
  • A natural leader who inspires confidence and brings out the best in others.
  • Commercially astute with a keen eye for detail and standards.
  • Passionate about food, drink, and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Adaptable, energetic, and hands-on in approach.
