The Builders Arms is a proudly local Chelsea pub, part of the Cubitt House collection – known for beautifully run pubs with real character, honest hospitality, and a warm, inviting charm. We celebrate the art of proper pubkeeping: exceptional service, great drinks, and seasonal British food served with style and care.

We’re looking for a Bar Manager who is just as comfortable behind the bar as being on the floor when nesscessary in the gorgeus 40 cover Pub – someone who thrives on making people feel welcome and is always on the floor where the action is. If you’re a natural publican with a passion for great service, this is your calling.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead from the front : Be a visible, confident presence on the floor and behind the bar – setting the tone for warm, attentive service and rallying the team.
• Support daily operations : Help oversee both floor and bar service, ensuring smooth running of shifts, top-quality drinks, and an all-round great guest experience.
• Be a host at heart : Build relationships with regulars and locals, welcoming every guest as if into your own home.
• Coach & develop : Support junior team members with training, upskilling and mentoring – leading by example with Cubitt House standards.
• Keep it sharp : Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness, stock rotation, cash handling and compliance.
• Stay curious : Champion our food and drink offer – take pride in knowing what’s on the menu and sharing it with guests and the team alike.

Who You Are

• A natural host with a real love of pubs and people.
• Experienced in busy floor and/or bar environments – ideally in premium, food-led pubs or restaurants.
• Confident, calm, and approachable – a real team player and motivator.
• Organised, reliable, and hands-on – not afraid to get stuck in and lead a shift.
• Passionate about great food and drink, with good knowledge of beer, wine, and cocktails a bonus.
• Looking to grow within a respected and expanding hospitality group.
