We're working with a well-funded AI scale-up that helps industrial companies solve complex engineering problems. They're looking for a Simulation Engineer with strong multiphase and CFD-DEM experience to build high-fidelity models that feed directly into machine learning tools.
The role
- Build complex multiphysics models end to end, from geometry and meshing to validation
- Develop DEM models of particle systems, such as fluidised beds, conveying and milling
- Automate simulation and parametric CAD workflows for optimisation and DoE studies
- Generate simulation datasets to train ML surrogate models
- Work closely with customers, including on-site, and present results and recommendations
You'll bring
- Deep expertise in multiphase CFD
- DEM experience (EDEM, Rocky, LIGGGHTS or similar), including coupled CFD–DEM
- Proficiency in Star-CCM+, OpenFOAM or Fluent
- Python scripting and simulation automation
- A degree in mechanical, chemical or process engineering (MEng, MSc or PhD)
Nice to have: reacting flows, NX or CATIA, surrogate modelling, HPC
The role includes regular international travel to customer sites.
