The Role

They’re searching for a Technical Lead to guide the design, development and optimisation of their web and mobile applications. You’ll shape scalable user‑facing products used by millions. You’ll mentor your team and drive improvements in quality and delivery.

What you’ll do

Technical responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain modern, scalable, accessible web and mobile applications
• Use JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js, Node.js, Kotlin, Jetpack Compose and Swift to deliver clean, reliable features
• Work closely with backend teams to integrate APIs and keep data flow smooth across all user‑facing products
• Promote modular, testable and maintainable frontend and mobile code
• Build and maintain design systems and shared component libraries
• Write unit, integration and end‑to‑end tests using tools like Cypress, Jest and React Testing Library
• Improve performance, accessibility and mobile‑first UX across all platforms
• Use monitoring tools to troubleshoot live issues

Leadership responsibilities

• Turn business needs into technical tasks and write backlog stories in Jira
• Lead delivery using Agile and Scrum
• Work with product, design and backend teams to prioritise tasks, scope work and report progress
• Mentor engineers across web and mobile
• Drive improvements in team quality, confidence and ways of working
• Communicate goals, progress and trade‑offs clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders

What they’re looking for

• BSc or equivalent, with 5+ years hands‑on experience
• Proven experience leading teams and mentoring engineers
• Strong skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js, Kotlin and modern mobile / web ecosystems
• Experience building large‑scale, high‑performance frontend or mobile applications
• Strong understanding of accessibility (WCAG), responsive design and performance optimisation
• Skilled with automated testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, React Testing Library)
• Background in SaaS platforms or high‑traffic consumer apps is useful
• Experience with CI / CD pipelines (GitLab is a bonus)
• Strong communication and time‑management skills
• Experience with Node.js, REST / GraphQL, design systems or mobile apps
• Docker, Kubernetes and AWS knowledge is a plus
• Experience with event‑driven architecture or messaging systems is a bonus
