Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer Salary: £38,000 + shift allowance + Bonus (£45,000+ OTE) Location: Liverpool Working Hours: 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm (alternating weekly) – On-site About the Role Join the Maintenance Team at a leading Fluids plant in Liverpool, playing a key role in ensuring the seamless operation of plant equipment through effective maintenance strategies. Acting as the vital link between production and engineering, you will use your problem-solving skills to quickly address reactive issues while contributing to long-term operational efficiency. Background Checks Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate must complete background checks, including a DBS check and verification of five years of employment/educational history before starting. Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with SHEQ standards, ensuring risk assessments, permit-to-work procedures, and safety regulations are followed. Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives, focusing on Visual Management, 6S, and LEAN principles. Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the site. Provide production support, including fault finding and minor project management, to ensure uninterrupted operations. Oversee the installation and relocation of engineering equipment, while carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance. Act as a mentor to engineering apprentices, providing support and guidance. Administer the site maintenance system, offering data analysis and insights. Take the lead on either Mechanical or Electrical maintenance, completing all required tasks following company quality standards. Demonstrate and uphold company values and leadership behaviours, setting high performance standards. Complete annual training and development reviews in line with company requirements. What We’re Looking For A recognised qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (e.g., Time-served Apprenticeship, HNC, or HND). Candidates with substantial manufacturing maintenance experience will also be considered. Basic IT skills, particularly Microsoft 365, with experience in CMMS, PLC, or SCADA being advantageous. Strong customer service skills, ensuring planned maintenance is carried out efficiently and aligned with business priorities. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with management and internal stakeholders. A self-sufficient and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently when required. A flexible and adaptable mindset, able to react to urgent tasks and shifting priorities. Willingness to cross-train in electrical or mechanical maintenance. CompEx 01-04 / 05-06 or C&G 2391 qualifications would be beneficial but are not essential. Why Join Us?
