My client is a global research and development organisation building a new facility in Oxford focused on solving complex challenges in healthcare, agriculture, climate, and AI-driven government innovation β they are looking to double in size this year and scale to over 1,000 in 3 years. They have a huge mission β to address the worlds most enduring problems through AI & scientific research. Currently they operate across 4 main domains β health & medical science, food security & sustainability, clean energy & climate change and government & public sector. Theyβre predicted to be the largest and highest-level AI team in Europe.
This is pretty much the first product hire for the Applied ML team, so the role has huge impact and potential. They are hiring a Product Lead with strong UI/UX experience to lead cross-functional teams and own the end-to-end user experience across digital products. This is a hands-on role requiring both strategic oversight and detailed execution.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the entire product 0-1 from strategy to execution
- Define and drive product strategy with a focus on design and usability
- Lead user research and design thinking sessions
- Develop and oversee wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
- Prioritise product features based on user feedback and business goals
- Work closely with engineering to ensure accurate implementation
- Establish and maintain design systems and UI standards
- Track and act on UX performance metrics
- 5+ years in product management with a strong UI/UX focus
- Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary product teams
- Strong grasp of design thinking, user research, and usability testing
- Familiarity with Figma, Sketch, or similar tools
- Understanding of front-end development processes
- Experience balancing user needs, business outcomes, and technical constraints
- Data-driven decision-making approach
- Background in R&D, healthcare, or technical environments
- Experience in AI product development
