We must achieve our goals by delivering our projects the right first time, and to ensure this happens, we have an opportunity for a Mechanical Projects Manager who has a relentless focus on quality and detail and is a confident communicator to join our growing Mechanical Projects team.
Responsibilities
- Management of projects on site varying from £1k to £2m.
- Be the person on point for all activities relating to the delivery of the project.
- Coordinate the delivery of all project activities on site between different trade subcontractors and internal teams.
- Work with the Contracts Manager to ensure the successfully turning of the project plan and quote into a reality.
- Manage all stakeholders and work with the Site Managers to create the project programme.
- Placing of all subcontractor orders based upon take-offs.
- Working with the design and construction teams to coordinate all activities on site.
- Coordination of Mechanical services (RCP’s etc) with other building elements and create solutions to service clashes, etc on site.
- Provide technical support to the Mechanical trade packages on-site to ensure smooth delivery of the project.
- Attend and represent the division at all site progress meetings, producing progress reports as required.
- Production and compilation of all Mechanical project-specific H&S documentation.
- Manage variations with on-site stakeholders and communicate these back to Contract Managers.
- Work with the Contracts Manager to produce valuations of works completed and Final Accounts.
- Production and compilation of Project O&M information.
Tasks & Duties
- Build and lead a construction team.
- Take on design development and changes during construction.
- Manage Construction drawing reviews and submissions.
- Manage and review internal & subcontractor H&S information.
- Review and manage programme.
- Monitor project progress and set deadlines.
- Attend project progress meetings.
- Evaluate and manage engineering and installation performance and standards.
- Manage and monitor procurement during construction with CM.
- Manage and monitor valuations during construction with CM.
- Manage commissioning programme.
- Manage and drive snagging work.
- Collate and issue O&M information.
Essential that communication, both verbal and written, is of a high standard.
Candidate Description

- Has at least 5 years experience of working in a trade background, looking to take the next step in their career.
- A desire to work towards or hold a Further Education qualification in a Building Services field is preferable.
- Someone who is highly organised, has meticulous attention to detail and is passionate about getting things done on time.
- Always seeks out value in their work.
- A confident communicator who likes to work collaboratively & is comfortable building relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Used to multitasking and having multiple projects moving forward simultaneously at different stages.
- Must be a self-starter and can work in dynamic environments.
