Estimator
About Us: CubicWorks is a new business that concentrates on and delivers construction refurbishments and fit outs, taking tried and tested formulas, shaking them up, and then delivering for customer success. We design and create extraordinary spaces through our unique collaborative position with customers and partners. To deliver solutions sustainably, transparently and with integrity.
It is important that we achieve our goals by delivering our projects in a right first time way, and to ensure this happens, we have an opportunity for an Estimator who has a relentless focus on quality and detail and is a confident communicator to join our Operational team.

Main duties and responsibilities
- Taking off quantities from drawings for procurement/checking subcontractor applications/pricing variations
- On-site measures
- Involvement with subcontractor procurement and subcontractor procurement analysis
- Assisting with tenders (measuring, issuing enquiries, meeting with supply chain, analysing returns)
- Issue tender enquiries
- Placing sub-contract orders
- Placing purchase orders (eg. labour, materials, preliminary items)
- Managing sub-contract packages from procurement through to final account
- Convene and attend sub-contractor meetings and internal meetings as required
- Costing and agreeing variations
Key attributes
- Be reliable, trustworthy and proactive, with an enthusiastic approach to work and learning, with good punctuation and attendance.
- Have strong organisation and communication skills, with a methodical approach and a good attention to detail.
- Be excellent in the use of Microsoft applications including Word and Excel.
- Understanding of recognised methods of measurement.
- Appreciation of the various types of main contract procurement.
- Have good knowledge of the various types of common forms of contract (JCT/NEC) and understand format and structure of contract / sub-contract agreements
- Have experience in using databases and similar bespoke IT systems
- Willingness to develop career.
- Experience of working within a contracting business.
