Job Summary: Performs a variety of tasks depending on current operational needs in support of the Weapon Effects Simulation System. These tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Issue, kitting, de-kitting and conducting TES alignment of all military vehicle types and man-worn types.
  • Training military and civilian users how to properly employ and maintain all TES systems.
  • In-depth troubleshooting and first-line repair or replacement of all man-worn and vehicle hardware systems in the field.
  • Receipt of all TES equipment, initial triage of damaged equipment and preventative maintenance.
  • Subject matter expert on TES equipment, Warehouse procedures, LMIS and import and export processes.
  • Drives, sets up, operates and manages a mobile Field Support Warehouse when required.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Warehouse Duties:
  • Provide a service to customers during issue and receipt of AWES equipment, including preparation of equipment for issue.
  • Instruct on the TES Assistant Instructors Cadre and other TES related instructional periods.
  • Operate and update the warehouse LMIS database.
  • Perform day-to-day duties within the warehouse.
  • Provide a point of contact for the customers.
  • Assist with the vehicle fleet management and maintenance.
  • Assist the Inventory Manager in auditing Group 2 equipment.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance on Group 2 equipment.
  • Carry out in-depth troubleshooting on Group 2 equipment.
  • Operate forklift equipment for the movement of items within the warehouse.
  • Deploy into the field to conduct in-depth troubleshooting of Group 2 equipment and support the customer.
Workshop Duties:
  • Set up and operate routine electronic test equipment to perform functional, operational and environmental tests to evaluate performance of components, sub-assemblies and assemblies.
  • Diagnose, locate and troubleshoot malfunctions as required.
  • Maintain files and records to document and support the maintenance effort.
  • Diagnose player equipment faults, i.e. vehicle kit electronics and mechanical, components, man-worn vest/helmet array/SAT electronics.
  • Repair Group 2 equipment under supervision of the Workshop Manager.
MAAR Operative Duties:
  • Deploy and set up the Mobile AAR vehicles within SPTA.
  • Support AWES/TES.
  • Train military vehicle crews on the fitting, use and troubleshooting of the TES vehicle equipment.
  • Train military users on the fitting, alignment, use and troubleshooting of the TES Man-worn equipment.
  • Provide detailed, in-depth technical support during all stages of a TESEX.
  • Support deployments of the Deployable AWES system to set up and manage a mobile Field Support Warehouse.
  • Be prepared to travel to support the company, acting as a subject matter expert on Cubic TES equipment, LMIS and Warehouse procedures.
Other:
  • Comply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policy and procedures.
  • Internal training will be provided to meet the needs of the organisation.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
  • Excellent instructor to military standards.
  • Ability to instruct class sizes of up to 100 soldiers.
  • IT skills using Microsoft Office.
  • Be able to operate basic radio systems and use basic radio voice procedure.
Desirable:
  • Military service would be beneficial.
  • Able to operate industrial sewing machine.
  • Forklift trained.
  • Technical background.
  • Basic understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace.
  • Carry out basic assembly repair.
Education and Qualifications:
  • Completed UK comprehensive/Military education or higher.
  • Instructional Qualification.
  • Full UK Driving licence.
Desirable:
  • Military or civilian Warehousing qualification.
  • Military Methods of Instruction qualification.
  • Import and export trained.
  • First Aid at Work.
  • HGV C+E.
Personal Qualities:
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • React well under pressure.
  • Be fit and able to carry out manual handling as required.
  • Be willing to travel and spend extended periods away from normal place of work, both in UK and abroad.
  • Must be able to meet basic security vetting requirements.
  • A good bearing and turnout is required at all times.
