Job Details:

The Contracts Manager will be required to provide a commercial service to the business, ensuring that CTSL complies with its contractual obligations; customer organisations are accountable for their obligations under their contract(s) and assistance in other departments. The position will require being responsible for key areas of a major contract within CTSL and for assistance to specific identified departments.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review requests for proposals (RFPs) commercially; identify risks; identify unacceptable terms. Complete overall risks assessment in support of bid-no-bid determination.
  • Review proposals to ensure compliance with company policy and acceptable risk standards.
  • Lead negotiations effectively with CTSL's customers and suppliers to ensure robust and enforceable contracts are in place in a timely manner and with acceptable risk for CTSL.
  • Prepare contractual documents such as licences, loan agreements, NDA's etc.
  • Provide commercial and contractual advice to specific departments allocated and ensure that any issues are resolved.
  • Monitor and review internal processes such that they remain robust and updated with Company policy and requirements.
  • Approve and sign correspondence within the requirements of the RCC Contract.
  • Work closely with and provide advice and support to CTSL's Project Managers and department managers in the management of projects.
  • Ensure that if the customer does not perform its obligations under a contract that CTSL is appropriately compensated for any change in scope of work.
  • Manage variations from receipt to closure including approving and signing of responses and price builds; attending Kick Off meetings and bid reviews.
  • Manage claims processes in an auditable manner.
  • Manage and negotiate the timely prosecution of legitimate claims under the contracts held by CTSL.
  • Manage and negotiate and mitigate any deleterious effect of claims made on CTSL by sub-contractors and/or suppliers.
  • Consider ways in which new forms of contract may be employed to improve timeliness or efficiency or reduce the risk to CTSL.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic objectives of CTSL and to work as directed in implementing them.
  • Liaise closely with Business Development and share market intelligence for the benefit of CTSL.
  • Foster and develop relations with key personnel within customers and potential customers such that CTSL are involved as early as possible in any opportunity.
  • Attend meetings; prepare presentations and such like as required internally and externally.
  • Comply with Cubic's values and adherence to all company policy and procedures. In particular comply with the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Skills knowledge and experience:

Essential:

  • Degree in relevant technical or business discipline and/or equivalent level of experience.
  • Solid experience in effective contract preparation, negotiation and administration.
  • Must be computer literate.

Desirable:

  • Professional procurement/contract management qualification.
  • Understands and has experience of European and public sector procurement legislation.
  • A general understanding of the technology being employed.
  • Driving license.
