Job Details:
Job Summary: To deliver Installation Bid and Estimation, Project Engineering and Implementation technical expertise across the business and particularly to the Bids and Proposals, Project Management, Installation and Customer Services departments.
Responsibilities
- Analysis and review of high risk bids and proposals, determination of equipment requirements and configuration and production of installation estimates for new variation works.
- Client liaison to agree scope, site access, programme, enabling works and transition plans.
- Attend pre-scope client site meeting and take technical advisory lead for feasible solution.
- Knowledge of civil structure and advise the client for a feasible solution based on the scope of work.
- Control of Installation works including management of production and delivery of installation documentation, installation sub-contract requirement, material control, site access, site installation and commissioning works, handover and as-built documentation.
- Liaison with Project Management department to ensure programme and budget estimates are met.
- Promote and cement the installation ethos of cooperation and collaboration across all Cubic teams.
- Devise and implement improvement programmes for product development and technical transition.
- Ensure effective communication with senior management in relation to all technical issues under remit.
- To participate in Design Support and advise upon product development.
- In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, translate product drawings into actionable process information and plans successfully.
- Review and approve installation design documents when required.
- Support installation and commissioning teams during the installation phases when required.
- Support and assist Installation Project Engineers when required.
- Liaise with Installation team and subcontractors to close off the project – Handover Documentations.
- Ensure that all works comply with Statutory Health and Safety at Work regulations 1974 and other contractual regulations.
- Comply with Cubic’s values and adherence to all company policies and procedures. In particular comply with the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Minimum Job Requirements
Skills knowledge and experience:
Essential
- Proven experience in Installation project delivery, implementation, commissioning and client acceptance.
- Excellent team player.
- Electrical Installation experience.
- Relevant technical supervisory experience including sub-contract management.
- IT network device knowledge such as routers, switches, ethernet and fibre communication based devices.
- Experience in producing RAMS/SSOW/WPP for Installation Engineers.
- Engineering documentation interpretations such as technical drawings, scope of works, engineering instructions, etc.
- Understanding of Clients scope based on the discussion or site meeting.
- Fluent in various Microsoft application such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Note, Team, etc.
- Knowledge of Network Rail standards and limitations.
- Knowledge of London Underground network.
- Able to travel and stay away from home for short period.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to cultivate good relationships.
- Clean Driving Licence.
Desirable.
- Membership of a recognised professional institution.
- Data communication such Ethernet and Fibre Optics experience.
- Experience in AFC systems.
Education and qualifications
Essential:
- University degree in Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Engineering discipline.
- City & Guilds 2382-22 BS7671 18th Edition Electrical Wiring regulation
- City & Guilds 2394/2395 or 2391-52 Level 3 qualification or working towards City & Guilds 2365 NVQ Level 3 Diploma.
- Strong IT knowledge and network topologies.
- Good engineering/technical discipline and skills.
- Good understanding of structural data cabling and its limitations.
- Good understanding of ethernet switches, routers, and networking technologies
Desirable:
- Site Management Safety Training
- Sentinel and CSCS or ECS certifications
- British Safety Council IOSH qualification.
